Decorate the outside of your home

outdoor christmas decorationsWhen I was a kid my mother loved to decorate the inside of our house at Christmas, in fact it was like a Christmas grotto. We had Christmas lights everywhere unfortunately we did not have outdoor lights in those days so the nearest we got to decorating the outside of our house was to put Christmas tree lights in our windows.

My mother would have loved all the outdoor Christmas lights that you can now buy and adorn your home with to give it that extra special look at this festive time of year. More and more house are now being dressed with outdoor decorations and in some cases the whole street gets involved.

You see many pictures published in the newspapers around Christmas showing all the effort that has gone into making their homes stand out from the crowd. You might not want to cover your entire home in lights but might like to add a couple of sets just to make it festive. You can have them draped from your guttering or if you have a tree or bush then a nice string of Christmas lights can be very effective.

The other type of outdoor Christmas decoration that you may like is the pre lit outdoor Christmas inflatable’s that are all the rage at the moment and these come in all shapes and sizes. So if you would like a big Santa inflatable to greet your friends an family when they arrive at your home then your spoilt for choice, the same goes for snowman inflatable’s , you can even get big polar bear to guard your home.

There is a lot more that you can do to make the outside your home festive this year from a simple xmas wreath hanging on your front door or you could choose from the many freestanding or hang on the wall lit decorations, again you have many to choose from, a simple Christmas star or snowflake will look effective hanging from a wall or why not go the whole hog and have father Christmas in a sleigh attached to your roof . Whatever way you choose to decorate the outside of your home you will get a lot of people admiring your home and its not just the kids but people of all ages that will stop and stare with wonderment and its at this point that you will realise that all the effort was worth it. So I would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
